TY Miscellany 2012-13
Musings of a CBS TY students from France, Jan 12
In November 2012, I travelled to France to learn french. I was placed in a school in Alencon, Normandy and stayed with a local family.
The school, Saint Francois de Sales, was huge with 1,500 students. There, I attended all the classes in french which was difficult at first but my french improved greatly. The day was very long starting at 8 am until 5.30pm and classes were 55 minutes long. The students were very friendly and welcoming. The family was really nice and I loved the french food and culture. I even got to visit Paris for a day. It was a brilliant experience and I would definitely love to return someday to study or to work.
