Information on the purchasing of Home Devices for students
As blended/remote learning becomes more of a reality, it is important to prepare for this and ensure our sons have a reliable IT device at home.
Following consultation with the school, Mr Seamus Kirby, the school’s IT maintenance provider, has presented five different options which he is willing to provide to CBS Kilkenny students at the special prices quoted below.
Prices range from €355 for an entry level Chromebook to €984 for a high standard laptop. The product range will give choice to parents/students depending on their budget and their requirements.

- FUJITSU STYLISTIC R726 Core i3 Tablet €850 inc. VAT. This is a high performing tablet with a detachable keyboard, making it a dual purpose device i.e. a touch screen tablet but also a more traditional laptop
- Entry Level Traditional Laptop, Avita, AMD R3, 4GB RAM, 256SSD, €500 inc. VAT
- Business Standard Lenovo Laptop, Intel i5, 8GB RAM, 256SSD, €984 inc. VAT
- Entry Level Chromebook, €355 Ideal for interacting with Google Classroom
- High End Chromebook 2 in 1 (Tablet and Laptop), €547 inc. VAT Ideal for interacting with Google Classroom
