On Tuesday 27 February 2018, the following presentations were made to all parents of 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students. The presentations provide a comprehensive overview of the new JC for each of the year groups.

In the first week of January, out class of 2017 JC students received the first ever issue of the new Junior Cycle Profile of Achievement certificates. Well done to all of our students. The future is bright.

Junior Cycle News Update Dec 2017
The Junior Certificate is being replaced by the new Junior Cycle. This is happening on a phased basis starting with English which was examined for the first time in 2017. In September 2019, the last subjects will be introduced.
This is an important change for both parents and students.

The new reporting system for the Junior Cycle means that in Oct/Nov after sitting their JC exams, students will receive a Junior Cycle Profile of Achievement award (JCPA ). This will include not just their academic results, but also Other Areas of Learning (OALs). A sample can be seen below.
It is important that all students who enter CBS in first year start to build their OALs so that they have meaningful achievements and engagement by the time they are at the end of third year.
