Subject choice is coming up soon and it's very important to choose the right subjects for you that will follow on to choosing your college courses. Teachers will be giving a 5 minute presentation on their subject and explaining all the little bits that are essential to know.

This will mean students will be in the know of what subjects to take for the Leaving Cert Course. Pay extra attention to Ms.Ryan during your Career Guidance classes, especially in the next 5 weeks as she will be able to guide you down the right track.

Wednesday January 10th: Senior Hurling Match
Today, the seniors take on rivals St.Kierans in a Leinster Quarter-final in what should turn out to be a very physical and entertaining match that will show the character of the teams. We wish the very best of luck to the CBS boys.

Thursday January 11th: BT Young Scientist
Two groups of TY students have managed to grip a place in the very tough and brain twisting competition, the BT Young Scientist. This takes place in the RDS in Dublin on Thursday and Friday (10th and 11th). One of the two teams is made up of Liam Moore, James Fields and Daniel Walsh. Their idea is on the use of foam rolling in young athletes. The second is Luke Cullen, Michael Rafter and Jack Murphy. Their idea is on the improvement in recycling and waste management in primary schools. We wish the lads the very best of luck.

Wednesday 24th January: TY Drama
There is a drama competition for all the students involved in with the drama team. This takes place on the 24th in Mullingar. The students involved include Cathal Eustace, Peter O’Brien, Paraic Connery, Michael Rafter, Kehlan O’Mahony, Luke Cullen, Kyle Dreeling and Daniel O’Grady. We would like to welcome back all students. We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and we all look forward to a new and successful year ahead.

The TY’s who haven’t been in the school for a full month because of Work Experience! Following that, we hope everyone enjoyed their experience and took as much advice as possible from it. Also a quick reminder regarding that…. Remember to hand your booklet and your forms in to Mr.Morrissey as soon as possible.

The Green School Committee have come up with a New Year’s Resolution. This resolution involves having a new blue recycling bin in every class. The system involves only putting certain recyclable items in these bins including paper, glass, plastic, cartons, cans and cups.

We would like to give a special thanks to Mr.Mulhall and his team of students for their very
good efforts in keeping the school as clean as possible.
