They began their kayaking journey by getting geared up for the exciting journey that awaited them. They got on their life jackets and helmets with great difficulty and took out their kayaks from the side of the river and into the water. They carried the boats into the river and paddled into the open water. They were part of 1 of 4 teams. The instructors were extremely helpful as they used a unique way to teach them the basic rules of Kayaking by playing a game of kayak hurling. This was were two teams trying to get the floating tennis ball and deliver it to instructor. Once they got used to the kayak they took off along the river and down the rapids for an overall great experience.

As part of our Green schools climate action week some of our TY students talked to the the 1st and 3rd Year students about the work that our TY greens school committee does and the areas that they focus on these include water and waste management. Our Advocacy team worked hard throughout the week spreading the message of the green schools and promoting the green schools. Reel Life Science 2018
A group of our TY students worked on producing an excellent video for the reel life science competition the past few weeks. They worked as a team to create the video. The topic they choose for their video was the unsung heroes of science.
Ger Carey Live!
Our Ty students enjoyed the live comedy show in the Watergate Theatre performed by Ger Carey. The theme for his show was all based on school life so it was very topical for our TY students. He then talked about students and the things that go on in class on a daily basis. He did talk about topics like relationships and bullying do in a very relaxed and light hearted manner. Our TY students really got involved in the show and every student really enjoyed it. Overall it was an excellent show.
